An assortment of fur wigs in various colors. I realized that I should have bought a black fur wig.
I didn't,...the one pictured is Nat's (hope she doesn't mind that I tested it out...was curious). The same goes for the 3rd wig in the top row, from the left. I can't remember offhand what it's called but the fur is really nice!
Overall, Wing's makes some really nice wigs! One thing tho, they are slightly big. I think they were made slightly big on purpose tho. I decided to use the DD head because it was easier to slip the wigs on and off since this head doesn't have the Volks velcro on it. My 2 SD heads do and I didn't want to deal with trying to pry the wigs off each time for the pics.
No, I didn't paint the eyes on the DD head. Those are set C decals for Dollfie Dream. Yeah, she looks very anime-ish but who cares! That head won't stay on that body for too long!
I needed to take reference pictures before I open the packs and use them. These are Neo Guy semi and full moveable wrist sets! It really should be called moveable fingers because that's the main feature of each of the sets! Volks came out with these at Dolpa, last December. They may look freaky but they allow the Neo Guy (or Goh body) to grasp things better. Eh, I'm not going to say what they will be grasping (LMAO!) but I thought I'd get a couple of sets to try out on the guys.
![]()
This is the Neo Guy "Articulation set". Nattie, what the hell are these parts for? Remember, I was asking you in chat! I ordered it because I was curious when I saw it on the preorder list.
![]()
Every SD owner should buy one of these! It's the Volks head stringing tool! Yes, no more pinched fingers when trying to pull the damn elastic thru the SD head to complete the stringing! I purposely delayed restringing Mir's body till I got this damn tool! Hell, I don't want to hurt my fingers in doing so! I've already got the SD stringing tool so I just need to pop my Volks msd stringing video in the vcr and watch the SD god show me how to restring the proper Volks way! LOL!
Oh, jus so y'all won't bug me over "where's the DD pics??!!"...here's one I took before I took her outta the box on Friday:
![]()
Blah, I was lazy to take pics of her again today. I'll do it tomorrow.
![]()
Ok, here is a more detailed tutorial on how to use the optional hands that come with your Volks Neo Goh body.
![]()
Take out the little bags that come with the body. You have the attachments in one and the hands in the other. You'll see all the different sizes. I'm not going to explain what all of them are for but focus on what we need here.
![]()
These 2 pieces, you need. Look for them in the bag.
![]()
Cut the half plug/knob off the little base. Snap together and you're ready to plug it into the hand! Viola!
Any questions?
Fueled by Phentermine, I'm still up and I've been hotglueing fur to some 1/6 heads! There is one other head I didn't picture tho. It's also got white fur but on an A head.
I've had this huge box of fur I won from ebay more than 2 years ago but never used till today. I'd always wanted to have my own fur head dolls and after seeing Nat make her lil imp, I thought...I should make use of the fur I've got stored. I put the elf head on a Ninie body for now but I don't know if I'll leave it on there. Hell, I don't even know when I'll paint these heads!
During lunch, I checked my PO box to see if my copy of BUST had arrived.
NO. The frown on my face was momentarily replaced by a big package in my box. The 2 Gloria furniture sets I won from ebay had arrived, quite quickly too! It's just the master bedroom set (without the hideous canopy crap) and entertainment center. Stupid me never did buy the tv/stereo set when it was sold individually earlier last year. Well, this entertainment center cost the same amount I would have paid for it anyhow.
The bed comes with a working bedside light...not that it matters. I was after the bed frame, if anything. It's a hideous white with gold trim on it. Ugh, that is so getting spraypainted. I bought Krylon Silver Metallic *shakes fist at Krylon* to use for it. I want that damn frame in a brushed silver look, I guess. I'll use the matte sealer over it to dull the look a bit. The mattress itself is quite crappy...it's just cardboard! But, the bed frame itself is pretty neat so I think I'll replace the "mattress" with a foam block.
This is IT for bed funitures for me! I don't need another plastic tub of crap in my closet! ![]()
If I'm able to spraypaint it after work, I'll post pics.
I'd like to thank all of those that left me comments of encouragement to keep trying with that couch I made earlier this week. I went and bought some rougher grit sandpapers and wood staining stuff (tho I might need to exchange it). Since the 3-day weekend is coming up, I'm going to try to finish off the couch and try to make the matching chair to go with it. Or maybe the coffee table?
I'm going to also go to the hobby shop and ask the nerdy airplane/train/car/ship model guys there on what I should use when it comes to attaching metal legs to wood. ![]()
Still working on finding someone to help me with the doll room issue. I didn't think about it till it was too late but one of the kids I know in the Filipino-American community...he was in high school AND was taking Shop class...I could have had him use the school equipment to do the stuff for me (he went to my old high school). Doh, he graduates this weekend so too late! ![]()
My couch SUCKS! I can see every stupid flaw! I took the pic before I upholstered the batting. This is the experimental couch, of course. What I'm aiming for is this:
![]()
and it's soooo not like it! I needed thicker wood and I'll have to find someone to saw the pieces for me. Anyhow, I'll put the cover on the cushion anyways because I can always reuse it. Meanwhile, I need to ask around and see if anyone has some power tools. Apparently, the ones my dad used when he made us shelf/divider units years ago...aren't working anymore. ![]()
*kicks stupid couch*
My right hand HURTS! I just tried to cut out the batting I'm using to make the 1/6 couch cushion! This is 2" thick densified batting for seat cushions too.
I bought it because it would look good compared to using cheap foam blocks.
But damn, it's hard to cut thru! I went thru 7 knives, trying to find one that worked best and none really did. It's too thick to cut with scissors too!
Well, I have the seat cushion cut out now. Just need to do the back cushion part but I think that will wait till tomorrow. I've got laundry to do right now and I need to take a break from finishing the sanding/staining the wood for this damn couch!
I had to make a quick run to the 88cent store today for another cheap handsaw since the one I previously bought suuuuucked when I tried to saw the legs for one of the 1/6 couches I'm making. I came across this photo cube and thought...hmm, this would make an interesting coffee table! Well, one of my guys seems to think it's comfy enough to sit on but nah, it's going to be a coffee table!
![]()
Since all the talk in Den of Angels group is about SD rooms (blah, I dun have any intention of making one...too costly, too big!)...I thought it was rather funny that I found an SD-sized microscope for 88cents! I held it up next to Mir when I got home and it's the perfect size! Heh, would make for an interesting photo...tho I need a lab coat for her. ![]()
I've put it off long enough! I decided to go ahead and start building the West Elm 1/6 couch I mentioned on my blog before. Right now, I'm waiting for the wood stain to dry so I can start sawing the legs. I've got metal parts to use but I need to figure out how to cut them to use...then keep them attached!
I guess I need to whip out the dremel! I really should look into buying some miniature screws or something. Guess I'll surf around and see what I come up with.
A rather very expensive way to obtain a setup for multiple doll rooms! It does have the pre-exisiting doors and windows,...LOL! I think I'll just stick to creating my own 16x20x16 room for the photoshoots!
Damn, Pottery Barn Kids has the cutest stuff for kids!
I need to *kick* Sandy the next time I see her online! For some reason, I've only seen the shop part of her site but today, I started looking thru the rest of the site and *gasp*, Miss Sandy has some incredibly useful tutorials there that can be applied to our 1/6 dolls!
Definitely check out her Library and look at the "Tooty Booty" tutorial!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
This store opened just 2 FREAKIN' BLOCKS FROM MY OLD APARTMENT IN SAN FRANCISCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This pisses me off,...stores like this are popping up in San Francisco (like Kid Robot) AFTER I moved and AFTER I've gone back for a visit!!!! ![]()
I'm sure people who aren't into a doll hobby wonder at why I spend so much money on my hobby. There are many challenges regarding this hobby. One is always fulfilling a childhood dream of having the perfect doll situation. As a little girl, I remember wanting a Barbie dream home so badly yet never got one. I was never so much into dolls that they stayed with me after I grew up. I just reconnected with that little girl doll desire a few years ago. Of course, that desire has changed into a passion to create what I want out of a doll.
The challenge we face with this hobby is to bring that passion to full bloom, actually create the dolls we envision. These dolls come complete with personalities, background histories, etc. Call it a fantasy world, sure. But we all have our own places to escape to. For me, this is one and it's definitely a place I can call my own.
Pictured above is a doll room from some japanese customizer website. I had found it long ago and forgot about posting it. Nat just mentioned on her blog about our plans to create a "doll room" to better photograph the hilarious and risque photo doll stories we create to amuse our group of doll friends online. Sorry but these "PSy" (photostorys...yes, deliberately misspelled) aren't for the faint-hearted and like I said, can get risque! I'm sure we'd probably get banned in a few places if we posted them openly! (Haha...and Tasha thinks I'm the porn queen....I'm noooooooot!
)
We've been talking about creating these doll rooms for more than a year...ok, close to 2 years and the only one out of us that actually did one was Jujube. But hers was made by a carpenter and rather heavy even tho it was extremely nice with windows and a door!! *kicks Tami* Now she's made her own and it looks really good! I bought the woods to make mine a while back but have been lazy to actually start on it. I still need to actually sit down and draw out how I want it to look before sawing into the wood. We aren't going to go half-assed about this and throw something up. We all are actually taking our time to make it look as realistically as possible! Sometimes, I wish I had a daughter, young cousin or niece *kicks my married sister* to share this hobby with,...or more like dump all my finished projects on so I have an excuse to buy more stuff!
Another project I'll be working on this summer (especially when I get the new computer) will be to create a 1/6 resource page on creating this doll room, creating your own furniture (no more having to rely on Barbie/Gloria crap) AND a how to photograph your dolls with a quick course in understanding your digital camera. There is such a lack of information, surprisingly with photography,...and considering the size and enthuasiam of/with the doll collecting/customizing community.
I worry tho,...when I move back to SF and more than likely, will be sharing an apartment with people,...I won't have as much room for my hobby. I know I probably won't have as much time either but I'm sure the new doll friends I've made online that live in the Bay Area will keep me in check! Hehe!
So, I suppose I reaaally need to start on the furniture first. Great. Guess I need to go surf modern furniture websites today.
Swiped from PJ:
1. When you paint, what feature of the face do you paint first?
The right side.
2. Do you root first, then paint? Or the other way round?
Root first! I'm not taking any chances with the paint coming off when I set the hair after rooting! Then I paint the face.
3. Rooting or slap a wig on?
Are you crazy? ROOTING! I wouldn't slap a wig on unless it was a stupid DP head which I prolly wouldn't even use since I suck at painting them.
4. What feature do you find the most difficult to paint?
The damn irises in the eye. Next would be the lips.
5. What hair style of the pre-rooted head is your favorite?
None really, I'd prefer to root the hair since you have more color options.
6. At this very moment, name one item you really want to get for your doll, in 1 second!
A custom black bondage outfit for the EB Beauty E bodies!
I'm curious, how does Antique Rose make their glass eyes by hand? Is it similar to this person's method? *sigh* Anyone seen any picture tutorials on how they did it? I just want to see how they did it, not necessarily going to try to do it myself. I'd probably end up overbaking them and my dolls would end up with the burnt-out-with-a-hot-poker look. Eww.
Just when I thought I was done with spraypainting my 1/6 furnitures, Krylon has the last laugh on me. I was walking the aisles of Hobby Lobby after work when I came across the new colors that Krylon introduced for their Fusion line.
ARGH! They had brown and MATTE BROWN!! I immediately swiped a can off the counter and threw it in my cart in disgust. They had 10-12 new colors on the shelf AND all in matte colors!
All those other colors I bought and they were in high gloss, which I didn't really like but bought anyhow because I needed the colors,...*shakes fist at Krylon*...damn you, Krylon...DAMN YOU!
Now, I'm going to have to convince my parents to spraypaint something...just so those damn cans of spraypaint don't go to waist! Hell, I start picking on stuff in their garden and say how good it would look in a new color! ![]()
I'm trying to figure out at what point did I sell my soul to Frank (of Doll & Hobby Shoppe) and Volks of Japan! :bangshead:
Frank finally got the preorder list from Volks today and posted it up! Here's the list for those that haven't seen it yet! I've been looking at it off an on since I got home from work today,...trying to decide what NOT to order!
I'm mostly ordering a mixture of SD tools but a lot of 1/6 stuff:
Grrrr, what happened to not buying anymore supplies vow? Out the window! Who knows when Frank will be able to get the E & J bodies again! I'm not taking any chances! Same goes for Neo Go heads! They are hard to find sometimes!
I'm going to go looking in my body drawer and see what I can throw up for sale now! See, I did good! I didn't order an SD or miniSD tho it's very tempting! ![]()
WTH? The temperature here dropped over the afternoon yesterday from 56 to 47 and it was off/on rain throughout the day. This morning, I woke up to 38 degree weather and scenes of snow in other parts of western Tennessee! Snow???? In April here??? We've only had snow ONCE this winter and it was a lame ass showing that melted in a couple of hours!
After putting away my winter stuff, I had to go rummaging thru the attic to find it again!
They say it will go back up to the 60s tomorrow and the 70s by the weekend. Yeah, right.
Meanwhile, the wood I bought for the doll furniture is sitting on the floor in my room. I need to draw out the plans for it, the measurements so I don't go cutting the wood incorrectly. I wonder if there is another attachment for my Dremel that I can use to saw the wood. If I can do it battery powered, so be it! Don't want to have to use the hand saw and do it manually! Hehe!
I guess, I can stain the wood first while I'm watching tv tonite.
Ugh, next weekend...I'm staying home and not going anywhere that requires I spend money!
I did get the stuff needed to make a new bed and the sofas for 1/6 scale. Bought precut wood at Michael's and got lucky because they had a 30% off total purchase between 6-8pm today. I got there at 5pm so I had to look around the store for an hour. I saved $15 in the end! I also got some paint pens to use on the plastic furnitures I had painted last weekend. I'll use them to go over the detailing.
On another non-doll note, I found the perfect Photoshop tutorial book,...specific for photographers. This book focuses on a photographer's needs out of PS,...it's what I've been looking for all along! I need to go back tomorrow (yup, Barnes & Nobles is open tomorrow!) and get it. I found out about it in one of the british digital photography magazines that I've been buying. I didn't really see any tutorials in the 5 magazines I normally look thru but they had a review on the book and it scored a 5/5 rating.
I'm tired and I had no lunch! Dinner is going to be light since I've been running around all day on Phentermine and a white chocolate mocha!
I'm thinking of junking the wooden bed I made and redoing it. Why? I started surfing West Elm (the more chic pricey sister to Pottery Barn,...yes, they are both owned by Williams Sonoma) for some bedding ideas cuz I'm in the mood for some new sheets for my bed. Looking at their furniture, I started thinking about making some doll furniture based on their designs!
![]()
I really want a headboard like this for my bed! (PJ, I know what you're thinking: But what about the handcuffs? Sheez, in the gutter again, girl!) But, easily done for a 1/6 bed, especially the wooden bed I made earlier.
![]()
Sooooooo easy to make!!!! I am gonna check out the hobby shop this weekend and see if I can find the wood for this. If not, off to Home Depot cuz they will cut the wood for me if I give them the measurements I need. I know we have wood stain stuff in the garage.
![]()
Gotta look for the metal or something similar for the frame. Gods, I would so love to have this in my apartment! Love the color too!
Heh, I can imagine Clarissa is already thinking that Leela is gonna get this stuff if I make it! Riiight, she's gonna keep it for herself! Hehe!
![]()
"...and she needs to come over to test out this new mattress with me!"
Yes, Tom has made an appearance again! As you can see, here is my pathetic attempt at sewing up a mattress for the damn bed!
Craaaaaaaaap, I just realized I left the damn white sheet under the bed! LOL, that's not supposed to be there! Ooops! Tasha asked to see what I did this evening and I took a quick picture for her. I sewed this up and stuffed it while watching 2 boring episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
My stitching was,...almost straight but blah, I just wanted to get this over with. Unfortunately, the polyesther stuffing stuff is a bit too puffy so the mattress is being flattened under 3 phone books now. NO, Tom is not under the phone books too,...he's still perched by the bed, waiting for that Nattie girl...
!
I'm exhausted! I still didn't get to sleep till 2am because I had to wait for my laundry to get done in the dryer.
On top of that, while I was waiting, I started piecing together the mattress for the boy's bed. PJ showed a picture, on her blog, of Trading Spaces' Ty,...on a bed I'm sure he designed and built. I already had that type of mattress in mind when I hotglued the bed together so yeah, I hope to finish that tonite while watching tv.
I need to make a index picture for the new doll site I'm working on and I'm just too tired to think of what to shoot. Oliver's bio is coming together now that I have the store in place. Maybe I'll come up with something later in the week.
Meanwhile, I've got to shove all the furnitures into attic or in my sister's closet. As for 1/6, I don't need anymore furniture! Gods, I have enough now,...tho I'm sure Nat has more than me!
What I do need is just ONE sofa for my SDs and I'm through with them! I don't want nor plan on creating a diorama for them!
I finally did it,...spraypainted almost all the furniture that needed to be done! Took me all weekend but it was worth the effort! Here are the pics:
![]()
This is from the Gloria store set I got from Ebay! I've been looking for this set for almost a year and happen to catch it at the last minute on Ebay. Fortunately, I didn't have to pay a lot,...won it for $9.99! It's kind of rare now to see the set and I was scared that I'd get sniped at the end of the auction. Good thing no one noticed it!
![]()
This dressing room is part of the set and I repainted what was pink...into blue. Unfortunately, the part that makes up the dressing room is made of cardboard. I'm going to change that as soon as I find some to use. I thought it was pretty neat to come with an actual dressing curtain!
![]()
![]()
The studio lights and dressing mirror are from a rare Barbie Photography studio set I showed on my blog a month ago. I don't have a lot of spraypaint colors so I just painted them black/white. The dressing room mirror, I haven't repainted yet...I want to get rid of that damn pink crap so I may finish this tomorrow.
![]()
I didn't want to paint the bedroom set all white (too bland) so I opted for red instead. Heh, I'd never use red in my own bedroom unless it was a darker red!
![]()
I call this my "Pottery Barn" set.
Damn Krylon for not making a brown color for their "Fusions" line! That is the spraypaint I'm using since all of the furniture is made of plastic and Fusions adhere to plastic without having to prime it.
![]()
Argh, you can see the pink under the table, which I didn't repaint. Another one to redo on my list!
![]()
This was originally a very dirty vintage Barbie set I won from ebay more than a year ago. Yes, it's been sitting in my closet for that long. I washed it as best I could and repainted it. The drawers aren't repainted but I'll do that later. I need to go over the smaller details with paint...I supposed, enamel paints? I don't know how Liquitex would work on plastic.
![]()
Lastly, this is from the My Scene store set. I didn't like the tone of brown it came in so I repainted it more neutral stone color. Will use this for the store.
I have other stuff I repainted but didn't snap pics of. I'm so tired. I didn't get to sleep till 5am because I was still hand sewing the damn bedding sets which still aren't done. *sigh*
![]()
Nat wanted to see the bed that I hotglued together so here it is! Grrrr, it's sooooo cheap, a la Trading Spaces style! I told her, this would have been a bed that Ty would have made, had he been blindfolded and handcuffed or something!
I need to find legs for the bed or something to get it off the ground. What I needed was a masculine bed. I think I'll hotglue some fabric to the headboard. Hahaha, tacky velvet or something! Yeah!
Ugh, I need to shower after all that spraypainting! ![]()
Print Mini has a great selection of stuff for 1/6 dioramas. Even if they are a tad smaller, I think you can get away with using some of them.
Take, for instance, these Lord of the Rings movie posters! I'm definitely going to have this in the diorama room!!! Or you need tiles for the floor? Hey, I'd better print out some Canadian dollars since the damn US$ is so weak! It's hay fever season so keep this close by!
I need to print up some of the newer stuff so guess the color copier at work will be busy tomorrow! ![]()
Ok Sandy, you asked for it and here it is:
![]()
This is why I'm forbidden from ordering anymore hair for myself on the NDR group orders! Yeah, I'm a hair hoarder! But I have been using the stuff! I just like having different colors on hand so I won't have to be stuck with using something I really don't want.
![]()
Here's all of it! I've been giving away some of the hair cuz I have too much. Besides, I like getting people started into 1/6 hair rooting! They should learn to root, rather than buy prerooted heads! Heh, you see those bunny ears in the background?
![]()
Grrrrr, that's our damn "cat"! Bunny that acts like a house cat! I swear, I can't do anything on the floor without THIS having to stick its bunny nose into it! She's too tame! Go away, gothic bunny!
Ok, so that's all the rooting hair I have!
I started out late on painting the F-4. My sister was bugging me about an auction I had to bid for her (I did win it for her) and was chatting with Katie about her new job and potential roommies.
By accident, I finally understand just how much I need to water down my paints and layer them! I repainted the lips, like 6 times till I got them almost the way I like them. I'm having problems shaping out the upper lip.
The good thing about the F-4 is that the eyebrows are pretty easy to shape out. I did sand down the carved default eyebrows a while back.
Well, need to get back to painting before my paints dry out, as Tasha is fond of saying! LOL!
Wow, I knew that a lot of the deputy bidders were using this (they've got to cuz how else could they bid on the numerous auctions at all times of the day/night??) but to actually see them selling the program on Yahoo Japan, that's funny!
You wonder why is it something like this hasn't been pushed and marketed towards people who bid on ebay! I haven't been bidding very much on ebay lately but for those power bidders, this would be a godsend. I do remember there was a sniper service you could use to bid on ebay but I don't know if people are really using it or even know about it.
Sorry, am doing this to "enable" the new categories that won't show up.
So I'm watching Law & Order and I'm rooting the tan A head at the same time. I wish Volks had made the new tan bodies darker. They look like they barely have a tan. =_=
One of the colors of Mexican hair I'm working with is kinda odd. I'm not sure if it's because of the color or it's the hair itself. The hair is too fine,...more plasticy than the other colors I've worked with. The hairs don't clump together. =_= Anyone have this problem with mexican hair before? I'm still gonna use it. I've used a lot of different mexican hair colors and this is the first time I've had a slight problem with the hair. Ah well...I still prefer it over Volks hair!
Ugh, I finally finished rooting the damn orange head! No pics, I'm too tired to even bother. The hair is drying from the setting process and it looks pretty good. Dunno what body she will get.
Ok, my pillow is calling me!
What type of paints do you use for customizing your dolls? Pictured here are the Liquitex Medium Viscosity paints I ordered from Dick Blick's website. So cheap at $1.99/2oz. while Michael's sells them for $3.99 or more!
These colors are what I will use for repainting my SDs...and some for my 1/6. I've got my chalk pastels but I'm too lazy to blush my SDs. Hell, I'd prolly wait till the winter to do it since it's too humid to coat the body parts outside.
It's rainy, nice & cool inside and I have a full belly...so why do I have this insane urge to root hair? I'm sitting here and thinking about the "fire" head I'm rooting at home and how I just wanna finish that damn head so I'll have a new doll to use.
I look at my other dolls and want to repaint them badly. Ugh...I'm getting tired of looking at their flaws.
Nah, I think I'd rather just go to sleep instead. :-P
Finally! Internet and cable tv back up at home! Woo hoooo! Here are the pics I took last nite! I gave him a layered haircut by clipping sections of the hair up the same way a stylist does it when I get a haircut. So, he's got a shaggy cut and I wish it were even shorter than this but I don't want to go any shorter and mess up!
So, how does he look?
I was chatting with Nat and Marta the other nite about Barbie Furniture. Why is it there isn't a website cataloguing the numerous furniture sets that Mattel has produced for Barbie over the years? You'd think, with all those fanatic Barbie collectors out there, someone would have thought to put one up!
I tried to google but nothing came up. At least, someone has taken the time to do a Fashion Avenue site but still...would be helpful to see all the sets put out by Mattel. I'd rather see stuff from 1980 and up.
It would make it easier to find stuff on ebay, instead of having to sift thru.
The one thing I haaaate about customizing guy dolls is cutting hair. Last nite before going to bed, I decided to try to cut the Imai guys hair. Well,...I didn't get that far.
I started having flashbacks to when I cut Lars, one of my own customized Neo Guy heads, when I cut his hair. It was a mess and I shudder when I look at him.
I tried to cut the way my stylist cuts my hair by doing it in layers but I really could quite get the hang of it. I need to see how it is done so I thought it's better if I look at pictures. Searching on google just brings up stupid books I have to buy to see how the basic hair technique is done. =_=
I'm not going to let that stop me tho...I really want to cut their hair...I just gotta figure out a way to do it without messing it up. It's one thing if I painted the heads and then cut the hair. It's another thing if I paid close to $65 for a painted head and cut the hair. *sigh*
Well, I packed everyone's orders up last nite. The only weird part was I had an extra #5 prerooted head out of the whole mess. I went over and over everyone's orders to make sure I didn't overlook/missed it when packing. Nope, the only person who ordered #5 heads, aside from myself was Hoshi! Well, I will mail off all the orders and email everyone to let me know if anything was missing from their order. I'll just set the #5 head aside. Stupid me might have accidently inputted too many when ordering.
Anyhow, I got a normal Milly body. Uh, I hate the color! It's so off-looking, to me! I should have ordered a white one! Ah well, it was cheap anyhow. I was gonna plunk a Barbie head on it so I could use the damn thing for photo stories! *sigh*
*sigh* Did I work on my dolls this past weekend? No. Why? Because I'm such a lazy ass. Did I think about working on them? Yes, repeatedly throughout the day while I sat on the couch and watch Lifetime movies with my mom or in the middle of dinner at Outback Steakhouse with my siblings and dad.
Here's the list of stuff I have to finish:
1. Finish rooting #8 head with various yellow/orange mexican hair
2. Paint Emma's white A head and put on her white D body
3. Finish rooting #9 head with lavender mexican hair
4. Finish rooting A head with black/blue mesh hair from ragdolly.com
5. Cut Nat's nameless boy's hair
6. GIVE Nat's nameless boy a freakin' NAME!
7. Finish putting all dolls on desk shelf
8. Redress all 1/6 dolls
9. Take pics of redressed dolls
10. Finish painting Mir's head
11. Give esthetics to Mir's body
12. Give esthetics to Mina
13. Wrap Mina's head up for custom painting by Tasha
14. Redress Mir in new stuff from Yjapan and take pics
15. Paint F-4 head
*sigh* I hate that list. I need to clone myself. I need to kidnap Nat, Tami and Tasha and make them my doll slaves to clear off my list. Or maybe I should just sell everything off and start up a new hobby like collecting vintage dish towels or something???? :-P
Why is it when there is a fresh crop of newbie customizers in LA, they all start wanting items that are out of stock at D&H? For instance, Frank had TONS of Neo Go #1 heads for a while. When he finally sells out, that's when all these newbies suddenly decide they want them. Same with the Neo Guy #1 head. Ah well, they'll learn!
